Children & Youth
Educating, enriching, and equipping the next generation
Youth Program
Over 40 boys come to our campus several days a week to participate in educational and enrichment activities. While basketball is the “hook,” we help with homework, mentor these young people, have Bible study and eat together. We need tutors and people willing to hang out with our boys. It will be life-changing for you too!
The Girls of Grace
Our group of middle and high school aged girls are called the Girls of Grace and always have a lot going on! They always have a lot going on. In recent months, they have been doing a marketing project, learning money management, writing and teamwork. They are also taking coding classes, doing yoga and exploring topics that will get them ready for college or whatever lies ahead for them after high school.
Reading Program
We partner with Atkins Technology Elementary School, focusing on improving their students’ reading skills. We are working with students at the school. We will need committed tutors and substitutes to spend time with the children of Cedar Grove to help strengthen their reading skills.
Summer Camps
During the summer months, Common Ground has two different summer camps with educational, recreational and spiritual activities. We have had as many as 90 children from the community joined us for fun, learning, art, and field trips to area attractions like The Shreveport Aquarium and Bayou Bounce.
